First Fridays at B: March Announcements

In honor of Women’s History Month, we partnered with our friends at Ladyboss to feature three female entrepreneurs bringing global flavors the March edition of First Fridays featured three local Ladybosses: Sifa Olive from Adibon, Maria Carpenter Rodriguez from Maria's HomeStyle Mexican Food, and Zainab Zizi from Suna's Egyptian Eatery.

The FarGo Giver is a startup business seeking to facilitate volunteer engagement and experiences in local non-profits. It is also a place for Non-Profits to collaborate with for-profits in celebrating the value of volunteering in developing a culture of win-win shop local campaigns.

Sam Rydell, Prairie Roots Food Coop
The Prairie Roots Food Coop Board of Directors wishes to provide a brief update about the Coop's latest activities and invite the audience to attend an open meeting on Monday, March 16th where they will engage in a facilitated activity about next steps for the Coop.

Shannon Thompson, Clay County Solid Waste
Clay County is seeking designs for the 2020 Clay County Earth Week T-shirts. Designs must be original works created by the person or group submitting them. The winner will receive a 2020 Earth Week T-shirt featuring their design.
Please enter design ideas to Shannon at the Solid Waste window on the third floor of the Clay County Courthouse or via e-mail by Thursday, March 19 at 12 p.m.

LesleyAnne Buegel, Red River Winter Market
Join the Red River Market for a winter farmers' market at West Acres on Saturday, March 14! This indoor event will feature pantry items, household goods, baked goods, art, hot food, beverages, and more. Shop with your favorite Red River Market vendors while enjoying live music on our stage.

Sara Watson Curry, Plains Art Museum / Buzz Lab
Buzz Lab 7.0 is an eight-day paid internship during Summer 2020 for teens interested in art, science, and the environment. Buzz Lab interns engage in learning, teaching, creating, sustaining and advocating for the livelihood of pollinators in a healthy ecosystem.

Peter Schott, Fargo-Moorhead International Potluck
International Potluck is hosting a potluck on Thursday, March 12 at Plains Art Museum. The event will feature new American entrepreneurs.

Kim Lipetzky - Cass Clay Food CommissionThe purpose of the Cass Clay Food Commission (CCFC) is to advise policymakers and elected officials in the Fargo-Moorhead Metropolitan Area on how to assure that residents have access to safe, nutritious, affordable and culturally-based foods. Commission meetings are open to the public, and all are welcome to attend the next meeting on March 12.

Anna Andersson, FARRMSFARRMS is recruiting interns interested in sustainable agriculture for the 2020 growing season. Get hands on experience on a farm, engage in readings and discussions, and attend farm tours throughout the summer. Stipends are available!

Jenna Hest or Becky Feltman - North Dakota Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics SymposiumThe North Dakota Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is holding its Spring Symposium "Nourishing Health" on March 11-12 at the Holiday Inn in Fargo. This two day symposium will provide health practitioners, community allies and food service professionals the latest information in nutrition. This symposium is open to Registered Dietitians and other Allied Health and Food-service professionals. Participants can register for one or both days.
