The act of preserving food transformed the human experience, creating a stable food supply, reducing hunger, and transforming simple foods into something more interesting and delicious. In honor of the rich history, our November edition focused on food preservation. We welcomed Markus Krueger (Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County), Rita Ussatis (NDSU Extension - Cass County) and Kevin Struxness (Hairy Hippie Pickling Company) to the stage to share their expert perspectives on the art and science of preserving food.
