Our November edition of First Fridays focused on the most wonderful food season of the year... FALL!
Our program featured local food + drink experts Chef Ryan Nitschke of Luna Fargo / Sol Ave. Kitchen, Chef Austin Covert of Rosewild, and Cocktail Artist Andrea Anderson of Harold's On Main.
To commemorate fall & back-to-school, we kicked off our FOURTH season with an event focused on school lunch!
We welcomed Greg Gefroh (Fargo Public Schools), Dana Hanson-Rieth (West Fargo Public Schools) and Kara Gloe (Moorhead Public Schools School Board Member/PB&J Fundraiser Co-Organizer) to the stage to share their perspectives on school nutrition.
Our third season of First Fridays kicked off with a special “On the Road” edition focusing on the food worker shortage in Fargo-Moorhead, our region, and beyond. Check out our Food of the North blog for a complete listing of community announcements.
The final First Fridays at B of the 2018 season focused on the stories of chefs in our community.
We welcomed Andrea Baumgardner of BernBaum's, Patricia Hanson Vetter of Prairie St John's, and Travis Rosenbluth of Harvestable to the stage to share their perspectives on what it’s like to be a full-time chef in Fargo-Moorhead.
First Fridays: October Edition focused on public markets and community building. We welcomed Simone Wai and Joseph Burgum of Folkways + the Red River Market to share insights on creative place-making.
The fall series of First Fridays kicked off with our September event focused on hunger in Fargo-Moorhead, and featured insights from Melissa Sobolik of the Great Plains Food Bank, Stacie Loegering of the Emergency Food Pantry, and Andrew Flory of Dorothy Day Food Pantry.
Our inaugural First Fridays at B took place on Friday, January 5, and featured a presentation by Jack Wood, Nola Storm and Simeon Bakunda of Growing Together ~ A Community Garden Ministry.
Join Ugly Food of the North on Monday, Feb. 20 for a special community potluck featuring Jonathan Bloom, author of American Wasteland and a prominent national voice in the end-food-waste movement.
On Monday, Jan. 9, Ugly Food of the North joined the F-M Sustainability Network to kick off 2017 at a meet-up featuring other organizations working on sustainability-related issues in our community.
